Hope you enjoyed some of the content that was posted the last few days. The Furniture Guy was doing some traveling over the holidays and could not post himself. I also took the time to add some pertinent RSS feed to the sidebar, which should give you some headlines in the furniture industry. Remember, as we move into 2008, that information is the furniture shopper's greatest alli and so reading not only the consumer information I supply here and that you find on other sites, you should also take a little time to see how the furniture industry works. Trust me, as someone who bought furniture both before and after learning the ins and outs of the furniture industry, I can tell you that it does change the way you look at things when you walk into a furniture store.
I plan to start a series of posts about purchasing furniture online soon as well. As you may recall, I was once opposed to the idea of buying furniture online just because of the fact that you dont get to sit in, lie on, or touch the furniture. Additionally, I was never real impressed with the customer service reviews and return policies of the online furniture retailers.
In the last year, though, a lot of changed in the online furniture shopping world. Almost daily, it seems, there are quality online furniture stores popping up in affiliation with real established furniture stores in major cities. These newer sites are offering top notch customer service and good return policies. Since you cannot touch or sit in furniture online still, though, I will be focusing on two things: where you can or should shop for online furniture and how to shop for online furniture. That should get rolling in the next day or two.
Hope everyone had a great holiday season.
