Patio Furniture Materials: Part 1, Aluminum

There are so many different styles of patio furniture out there, that the discount furniture shopper can nearly always find something that is right for him or her. However, discount patio furniture shopping is about more than just personal taste; it is also about finding the right material for your climate and your patio furniture needs. Today, in part 1, The Furniture Guy will take a quick peak at the pros and cons of Aluminum as a patio furniture material.

The Pros of Aluminum Patio Furniture

Aluminum patio furniture is, first and foremost, very easy to clean. With simple soap and water, you can keep Aluminum patio furniture looking bright and clean. Additionally, it is light weight, which makes it easy to move and easy to maintain. Finally, aluminum is a great patio furniture material because it does not rust. That means no worries when those summer rain showers come calling and no concerns about morning dew not trying quickly enough for those of you in humid climates.

The Cons of Aluminum Patio Furniture

The biggest con is also one of those pros, believe it or not: the aluminum patio furniture is light weight. If you live somewhere with a lot of wind, that means you may have to find a way to secure it or simply try a different material. Additionally, certainly types of aluminum patio furnitrue are mass produced and machine assembled, which means that they can sometimes look sloppy up close. Of course, if you are all about price point and value (and many of US are), then such small flaws in appearance are not that big of a deal.

All in all, as with many other materials, Aluminum is right for some but not all people. Stay tuned over the next few posts as The Furniture Guy looks at other materials for your discount patio furniture.

Hope this helps,
